Teri,

I am ordering Beneath a Marble Sky today. For those that liked that book, they will love the 2 I posted about. Both very good books about Shah Jahan's father Jahangir and his love affair with Mehrunnissa and how she gained power as a woman in the Mughal empire.

The Kite Runner is so good - I'm about 2/3 through already. It's about a boy and his family and his life in Afghanistan as a child and his departure when the Russians invaded and took over and what life was like there under the Taliban. I had heard it was on the bestseller list for some time and now I know why.

This will sound silly, from a fellow bookaholic, but today I became reacquainted with my local library!

Hello to All,

Our bookclub genre for this month was mystery. We chose two novels "The Dante Club" (which I finished and thought it was an okay book) and "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie which is what I am reading now. It's a fast and fantastic read (one of the best mysterties of all time).

Next up - "The Way The Crow Flies" by Ann-Marie McDonald. Sue

I finished Handmaid's Tale today. I thought it was very interesting. The historical note at the end was an interesting twist. I thought that it was amazingly relevant to the current political situation. What did you think, Teri.

I've gotten a bit sidetracked on Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell. I've had a few things I needed to read first and it's too big to carry with me most of the time.
