School's Out!

The semester is over and now I have time to read whatever I want ... well almost ... after all the relatives that are coming out for graduations, etc. come and go.
Just got back from a Memorial Day horse camping trip and managed to sneak in one of Anne Perry's Thomas Pitt victorian murder mysteries -- I just love that era! Also have to read "Cold Sassy Tree" before DD heads to high school in the fall. It's required reading for parents and students!
Anyway, I'll poke around for some recommendations.

Hi Jules!
Yippee, Summer Vacation!
The Little House series is one of my absolute favorites! DD (now 13) actually read them to me about 3 years ago when I was struggling with a debilitating illness. She'd sit on my bed and read to me after school! Talk about a turn of the tides! She and I are both fascinated with with pioneer life and would love to visit the homesites of the Ingalls family someday. HOWEVER, after my horse camping experience last weekend, I think I am cured of ever wanting to actually LIVE the life!
It was cold, wet, foggy, slept in a tent, heating water to wash in, the smell of wood smoke that gets into EVERYTHING and the lack of flushing toilets did it for me! LOL
Can't think of who wrote "Cold Sassy Tree". DD took it to school with her today.

Maggie, I just went and checked my bookcase and Olive Ann Burns wrote COLD SASSY TREE.
