I'm reading _Big Stone Gap_by Adriana Trigiani at home and at work I am reading _Vegan, Virgin, Valentine_by Caroline Mackler.(YA) I'm hoping _Big_ will get better soon. I just have a lot of time relating to hillbillies.
I'm reading "Catch 22" by Joseph Heller and "Me & Emma" by Elizabeth Flock. I'm thinking of passing on the rest of "me and Emma". It's just too sad. "Catch 22" on the other hand is full of absolute nutcases who have made me laugh out loud several times. It's a hard sort of humor, though, bitter and a bit sarcastic. But I am one sick puppy.
I know I should saty away from these threads- I always get at least one if not two books to add to my list. I am finishing "come Spring" by Ben Ames Williams for my book group tomorrow night. It's the story of the settlement of Union, ME which is the neighboring town where I grew up. I also got "Vanishing Acts" this weekend from the library so I can start our group read for this month. And I am going to start "Irish Chain" today by Earlene Fowler- I have discovered the Benni Harper books:)
I finished Elizabeth Berg's The Art Of Mending over the weekend. Very good. Now I'm trying to read The Loop Group by Larry McMurtry. I'm having a hard time getting into it. Has anyone read this? Anything good to say about it? Maybe I just haven't read far enough into it yet.
