I usually buy a gamut, and recently's been no exception. My last trip to the bookstore, I stocked up on:

I just bought Torey L. Hayden's newest book, Twilight's Children, on amazon.com (it hasn't arrived yet.)

I think she's written two fiction novels, but the vast majority of her books are based on her work. I would actually recommend reading her very first book, I think it's the best--One Child. But Ghost Girl was really good too!

I love Torey Hayden. I read One Child in high school and I think it's what made me interested in special education - I'm a speech-language pathologist. I've read several others but One Child really stands out. Let us know how you like her newest.

I was down in the neck of woods of my favorite used bookshop and picked up the following...

  • Peter Straub's Ghosts... anthology

  • American Gods, by Neil Gaiman... hardcover, 1st edition

  • The Devil in the White City, by Erik Larson... advanced reader's edition

  • A Winter Haunting, by Dan Simmons... hardcover, 1st edition

  • Planet of the Apes, by Pierre Boule... I had no idea such a book existed, LoL!

and a handful of the Bailey School Kids books for my girls and a couple of Pokemon chapterbooks.
