I haven't read State of Fear yet. It's on my TBR list:) The last one by him that I read was Prey. It was excellent as well. His books are so suspenseful and well researched. I'm always amazed at the plausibility of them. Even if you've seen Jurassic Park, I would highly recommend the book. It's different enough from the movie. Of course I read it first and liked the book more, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The Lost World was a decent read, but not anywhere near as good as Jurassic Park. I also liked The Great Train Robbery and Airframe, but I really didn't care for Disclosure. That's the one about sexual harrassment that was made into a movie with Demi Moore. Not a bad premise, just didn't care much for it.

I just finished a terrific book of short stories by Pam Houston titled "Cowboys Are My Weakness". No, it isn't about women who meet cowboys on dude ranches and fall in love. It goes much deeper. Each story is about a woman who is involved or becomes involved with a man who has a 'cowboy' spirit - wild, independent, adventureous - and how they individually deal with them. The stories take place in locales like Alaska, Utah, Colorado; in small towns or out in wide open areas I would think twice about going to. But there is not only the challenge of the relationship with their man but most of all within themselves. Houston's book was selected for a monthly book discussion at the Ft. Worth library. I wasn't able to attend but the title then reading what the stories entailed, got me real curious. It was a very satisfying read and plan on getting the rest of Pam Houston's book. The link below will connect about "Cowboys Are My Weakness" but you can also go to her website to find out more about the author. www.pamhouston.net Gotta say her stories sure made me think and got some good laughing in as well.

Not sure what I'll be reading next. Rick Riordan has a new Tres Navarre novel out called "Mission Road". Reckon I'll just buy it tomorrow; this series has always been alot of fun to read.
