What's it like for you when you can't read for a few days, a week or more?

This happened to me today. I went to the library only to discover that they are enjoying a 3 day weekend and were closed :( I said "OH, NO" I had my 2 dd's in the car with me and I said maybe I'll go to the dump to pick up a book. My 12 yo said "Mommy, that's just gross." I guess I should clarify and say my "dump" is really a transfer station and there is a shed across from the recyclables that is a book depository. People bring unwanted books there and someone shelves them and keeps them from total disarray. You never know what you'll find there. It's mostly paperbacks, but sometimes there are some really good things there.
Anyway, I decided not to go and I just read a magazine tonight, but tomorrow it's off to the library!

Go a day without reading??? I take a book with me everywhere and cannot recall a time that I didn't get at least a few pages in during a day. Of course I'm lucky and can read just about anywhere- including a moving vehicle:) Hang in there girls and think about turning all those wonderful pages and how exciting it will be to get back to your book. I wonder if they have a Book Doctor? I mean if they can have a Sex Docotr there should be a Book Doctor somewhere.......

I have not read for over 2 weeks! Gasp!

The first week I was on vacation and didn't get to read much. Last week I was busy preparing for the local 4th of July parade. Our church had a float in it for the upcoming VBS so I helped get that together and paint it plus I had to do some other things.

I finally just opened a book this morning.

Eeek! Not read something....can't imagine it! When I know the library is going to be closed for a holiday it even makes me nervous. I always make a stop in to pick up a book or two "just in case". Sometimes, if I'm not ready to start a new book, I may read a magazine or something instead. But I can read anywhere, anytime.

I know what it is to suffer through AC issues, I feel for you!

Sometimes I get so busy that I don't have a chance to read for a few days or even a week. I'm like a starving junkie when I finally get back to it--I read til my eyes are burning!

I was in a bit of a reading slump the past couple of days. I finished a book, then just couldn't get into the next one.
