I've been around ivillage for years and didn't realize there was a 'book' board til today.
My name is Tracy. I teach writing, lit. and biology (weird, I know) in a jr./sr. high school in rural Michigan. I don't think I have a favorite genre at this point in time. Overall, I go from one to another as I find something I want to read. My fave books range from "Macbeth" and "Romeo & Juliet" to "Pride and Prejudice" to "To Kill A Mockingbird" to "The Outsiders". Basically I'll read anything from Shakespeare to Danielle Steele or Evanovich to James Patterson. I'm currently reading the Left Behind series by LeHaye/Jenkins...on the second book and finding it a bit slower than the first but okay. Most people don't understand how I can go from reading a romance novel that is little more than soft porn at points to Christian fiction, but that's me.
I read tons of adolescent lit. during the school year (and doing my part to keep Amazon afloat buying current novels for my classroom). During the summer, I devote my reading time to books for me. I'm looking forward to the new Harry Potter, new Stephanie Plum, and a variety of others assuming I have time to read them all before the end of August. I hope to spend some time here getting info on books I haven't read, discussing those I have, and meeting some new friends.

Hi & Welcome,Tracy!

Welcome Tracy- yes we are an eclectic bunch here and discuss anything and everything. I have a degree in English with a Minor in Biology for Secondary Education so don't feel alone:) So what are they reading in schools now? I always love to find out what's current. I don't teach right now but someday......
So glad you found us and looking forward to hearing about your travels through books.

<Welcome Tracy. I'm glad you found us. This is a great board to get good reccomendations, talk about the book you are reading at the time, or to just get to know some new people.
I loved the first Left Behind book but like you I found the second one a little less interesting. Do you plan on reading all of them? I think I got up to the 5th one.
I look forward to getting to know you better :0)
Hi Tracy.
