I've been lurking for awhile, but I decided to jump in! I was looking for a book board awhile back, but just as I quit looking...
I kinda got back into reading last fall after a long absence due to working and mothering. Phillipa Gregory's Tudor series (The Other Boleyn Girl, etc.) brought me back to reading with a vengeance! I was going to say I'm new to historical fiction, but a quick recap of what I've read over the years would lead me to say I read *mostly* historical fiction with contemporary fiction thrown in occasionally. I love Amy Tan and her stories of ancient China. At the top of my all-time favorite list is Gone With The Wind, which I read every 2 years or so. I finished Anya Seton's Katherine (excellent!) and am going to start on Kristin Gore's Sammy's Hill. I also throw in non-fiction occasionally, whatever happens to catch my eye, I guess.
I used to work in a bookstore during high school and college and I really miss the book world! After getting that career that I thought I wanted (ha!), I find my dream job (after my kids are raised) is back to shelving books in a bookstore - crazy?? My idea of a good day is 2 uninterrupted hours and a tall Starbucks in hand at a Barnes & Noble. The last time that happened... probably over a year ago !
