I read "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory" (cute!) and "Old Hen", a wonderful children's book recommended by Beth (thanks!).

I just finished Potshot by Robert B. Parker. It's a Spencer novel which I absolutely love to read. These books are always a good way to jump start my reading if I feel like I'm lagging or getting to bogged down with things like rings/rays, group reads, etc. If you like Dennis LeHane I think you'd like Parker. Similar but Parker is a little lighter.

Just started Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner. I'm only on the 4th chapter but looks promising.

Okay, I'm kind of embarrassed, but they were fun reads and I love childrens/teen books. I finished Artemis Fowl (wasn't that impressed, I like the HP series a lot better) and Lemony Snickets (the first book). I thought that one was cute and I finished it in about an hour (maybe less). I also am halfway through If Chins Could Talk (autobiography of Bruce Campbell) but I'm finding it hard to get through. I think it's to "male" for me. :)

Oh yeah, I also finished the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and I absolutely loved that book. I thought it was written from a very interesting perspective and it went by really quickly (although I must admit, I skipped over the math problems - they made my brain hurt!)

I just started, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'. I'm just 50 pages into it and will probably not read it straight through. I have other things going on tomorrow, so I won't be reading all day. There are a couple of other books I started and haven't finished. 'Open House' by Eliz Berg is waiting for me to get back to it. I think I've finally finished watching 'Buffy' and 'Angel', so I can get back to reading.

I just finished reading "She Woke Up Married" which was a fun read and entertaining. I am reading Pere Goirot by Balzak for my reading group and for fun today I will start Earlene Fowler's next Benni Harper book Dove in the Window. I have Mermaid Chair and Zorro on request at the library so those will be next on the list.

I don't get much time to read, but I'm working on Sammy's Hill by Kristin Gore. Probably put me down as ditto for next week, It's an easy read, but not quite my style. It's called the Bridget Jones of Wash DC and the character is very quirky and she goes off on all sorts of tangents describing people and events. But its a good look (albeit fictional) inside Washington.

I'm still slogging through Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrell. I'm about halfway through and I'm still not sure where the plot is going. While I love the concept of the novel, and the anecdotal footnotes, it's just sort of meandering and I'm losing interest -- which stinks because I heard such good things about it! But I firmly believe that in finishing what I started, so... ;)

Still reading "Crusader's Cross" by James Lee Burke. Next will be "Mission Road" by Rick Riordan. Have been a bad girl this month in spending $$$ for new hardbacks, but some of my favorite mystery writers!!! And the coupons Walden's Bookstore send via email have helped alot! Woohoo!

I'm almost finished with Eleven On Top - it's so good!! You've almost gotta feel sorry for Stephanie - she's a disaster magnet!! Not sure what I'm going to read next. I have the latest Jan Burke book that I might read next. I have to see what I'm in the mood for and then select from the pile in my reading room. I'm sure I will be reading since it will be over 100 all weekend plus super humid!! Gae
