The heat has been keeping me away from the weekly Sat. used book sales at the library down in Chico.

Well, today I'm probably heading out to Costco, to get book 2 of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series, I THINK it's out today.

This has been a terrific month for book buying! I got James Lee Burke's new Dave Robicheaux novel 'Crusader's Cross' and Rick Riordan's new Tres Navarre novel 'Mission Road'. The latter was not easy to find which I found odd because he's a Texas writer and figured his book would hit the shelves in Ft. Worth the day it was released. Not so! I called a number of retail bookstores and none had the book. I refused to order and wait so a couple weeks ago decided to drive to some of these stores to see what the deal was. Not having the A/C working in my car made no difference and the hunt was on! Went to Walden's and B&N close to our house; no luck. Downtown Ft. Worth. Nope! Finally in far west Ft. Worth, I hit Border's. Their computer said 15 copies were availabe in that particular store. Guess what? NO COPIES! Now that just whets the appetite more and was ready to head over to Dallas. Luckily, the bookseller helping me phoned over to another Border's 10 minutes away and they had a copy. Yay!!!!! Thanked him profusely, drove over where the book was being held, and hugged it to my chest after buying it! Yes, it was worth it! Neither heat, humidity, or lack of A/C kept this bookaholic down!

The most recent book I've bought was Dean Koontz's City of Night: Frankenstein, book 2.

Let's see...I ordered a few things off Amazon for my 5yo ds and slipped some books in for myself: Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Tending Roses. Dexter moved to the top of my TBR list and is now patiently waiting for me (-;

Hi My Lucky 3 :)

Isn't that an unspoken rule, that when buying books for the kids, the adult *MUST* treat themselves to a title, or two?!

Nothing lately for me, but I've gotten quite a few from trades (all but one went to my ds, though)
