I'm reading Cane River and I'm on about page 80 and I'm really liking it. I should finish this weekend easily. It's been a few books since I have had one I am so anxious to get back to. I can't imagine how it must have been to be in such horrible situations and times.

I'm reading "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons" by Lorna Ladvik. I'm about half way through and it's really good so far!

I'm just finishing The Art of Happiness At Work by the Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler. I was hoping to get a little perspective on how to enjoy work a little more. I can't say for sure that it totally helped me, but it does give you some ideas to focus on when you're not enjoying your job. Gae

RE: "Soapsuds" by Finola Hughes. No, I wasn't ever a big "General Hospital" fan, although I have watched it occassionaly. Actually, I remember her from some sitcom...was it "Blossom"? Anyway, I like her. I though the book was Ok, but not great. It did have some great moments though. It may be though that it would be more enjoyable if you were more familiar with the soaps & could try to figure out who the characters might be.

I'm reading Two For the Dough by: Janet Evanovich (2nd book in the Stephanie Plum Series about a woman turned bounty hunter out of desperation. Her first book had me LOL many times!) I felt the first few chapters of this book were too similar to the 1st, but it has definitely picked up! Only 45pgs to go!

I am currently reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See about a woman in China in the 1800's. It begins with her as an elderly woman looking back on her life. So far it is wonderful. I also just read an amazingly good book called Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum about a German woman during the Holocaust. It is an incredible book - very powerful and sad. Some scenes were hard to read due to the nature of the book, but it was impossible to put down. It was extremely thought-provoking. This is a book that I have thought of everyday since I finished it.

Scrappy,

i just started "Those Who Save Us" yesterday. I got the recommendation from this board and I can already tell that it is going to be good. I just finsihed "The Bonesetters Daughter" by Amy Tan. I had never read it yet I know must people have, I thought it was a very good book! I do believe I will put "Snow FLower" on my list. Thanks, Sue
