It's August first and the waether isn't the only thing that is hot here. It's time for those "Summer Nights" that John and Olivia sing about.

Romance novels encompass an astonishing variety of subgenres and types of stories, so there's a little something out there for every taste. There are sexy books and sweet books, books that take place in modern day cities, medieval castles, or distant worlds. Heroes can be dukes, cowboys, doctors, adventurers, military men, spies, or even something not entirely human. Same goes for the heroines. There are comedies, tear-jerkers, adventures, erotica, suspense, and mysteries. Some books are short and some are long, but they all have one thing in common: in the end, the reader knows the hero and heroine will overcome their obstacles and make a commitment to be together.

So what sort of hot summer night do you enjoy?

I like funny and sexy. With men who are who a little rough around the edges and women who are strong and tough but still female. However, hero most always be respectful to women and story never too sappy.

One of my favorite ways is reading a Jennifer Crusie book. She combines romance, adventure and some great humor!

I love funny, and I love sweet--I also really love the ones that shake me to the core with their emotional intensity, but I don't really discover those too often! :)

I also LOVE historical romances where the author has really, really researched the period and so are full of fascinating details about the times.
