I just recently discovered this board and followed a signature to the bookcrossing site. I browsed around it a bit, but i am a little confused. can anyone explain how it works? what does it mean when a book is "released" and is "in the wild"?? There were a couple released in my town. i'm just a little confused.
TIA!

I was also confused by it. The NYC library system is HORRIBLE. Too many people, not enough books. And the hours of the libraries are HORRIBLE too (most are closed on Sun, locations vary on Sat & most close during the week at 6pm-doesn't help if thats the time you get home). One would think in a city like NYC it would be better but its not. And I hate shelling out money for a book, even if I can sell it on ebay or whatever.

There should be a netflix type of online library. I would have no problem paying a monthly fee to read books that my own library never has.
