I started reading a James Patterson book, Cradle and All tonight...It seems to be a typical Patterson book, in that it's proving to be a very quick read, with some chapters being less than a full page long.
Sounds like everyone has lots of good reads:) I am reading Nora Robert's "Homeport" for my local book club. Next up is "Arkansas Traveler" by Earlene Fowler- I'm still hooked on Benni Harper mysteries. I am alos putting in my request for "American Gods" at the library so we can start talking about it next month
I took the kids to the library last night not really planning in getting anything for myself. Well on the New Releases shelf there was this book just calling for me. I didn't want to get it because I figured I wouldn't have time to read it so why bother. Well I couldn't fight the urge so I got it anyways. Instead of watching So You Think You Can Dance, which is one of my fave summer shows, I decided to read for an hour or so and then call it a night early. Well 2 hrs later I forced myself to put the book down so I could finally rest my eyes.
The book is called Beyond Tuesday Morning by Karen Kingsbury. It's about a woman who lost her husband in the 9/11 attacks. It's 3 years later and she is a volunteer in a church across the street from where the towers once stood. The church is where people who lost loved ones can go to seek support and comfort. She listens to everyones stories which of coarse are heartbreaking. While she is doing this she meets a man and they have feelings for each other but she doesn't know if she's ready to move on.
It's SUCH a good book. It's the perfect book for those times when you feel like you just need a good cry but at the same time it's a feel good book watching this woman overcome her heartache. I'm a little more that half way thru it and I can't wait to finish it tonight. I'll have to record Hooking Up!

I'm reading Mary Janice Davidson's chick lit vampire "Undead and Unwed", featuring Betsy Taylor, reluctant Queen of the Vampires and shoe-a-holic.
