Okay, I ordered a whole giant shipment of books, and when they arrived I happily sat down to figure out which one I wanted to read first.

I still haven't read them myself, but my GF tells me that there is a comic/mystery series about a stripper (or ex-stripper) whose family is into NASCAR that she read several years ago & she swears that when she read Janet Evanovich's "Metro Girl" that it seemed like a real rip-off of it.

Maybe I'm just naive -- I've just never encountered two separate books with such similar plots before.

This is my first Robert Rankin book -- he's in the same sort of genre as Jasper Fforde, I think.

Okay, I've read the Jasper Fforde interview and it appears that he actually wrote The Big Over Easy quite a long time ago, so perhaps it's just really coincidental that he and Robert Rankin came out with similar stuff...

I'm not entirely sure why I'm obsessing over this! :)
