I just finished this very wonderful novel and highly recommend it. It's about an adult son (Emil, called Emmie) who recalls is parents' fifty-year marriage, trying to figure out what kept them together all that time. I posted a longer review on the Fiction Lovers board, but wanted to spread the news because this is so good.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was wondering if it was a good book. It sounds like something I'd be interested in.
It really is a wonderful family story and a great slice of that postwar baby boom that was so full of hope and anticipation. I laughed out loud in some parts, had tears in my eyes in others.

Thanks for the recommend, TK.
I like this board, but I have a very slow computer so it's often difficult to find the time to read and post on more than one board. Plus summer reading got off to a slow start and I didn't get into many really good books until just recently.
It's so good to get additional suggestions from the readers here.
