Have you made your menus this week?

Do you plan your meals according to what's on sale?

I just completed an entire month's worth of menus yesterday. I don't plan based on sales unless there is some terrific loss leader sale going on that I've taken advantage of during the previous month and stocked up my freezer with. Mostly I buy meat/poultry/fish in bulk and cut it down to dinner sized portions before freezing it at home. Here's my 29 dinner menus for the month, in no particular order, the only day I didn't plan out was Easter Sunday since my family will do our traditional group dinner and we will all contribute a dish or two. I will choose one meatless meal per week from the group, and as you can see I have based three meals on planned over meat from a previous meal. I also try to mix things up so that we never eat beef or chicken or pork or lamb or fish two nights in a row. We also like a lot of variety in our meals so I never serve the same dish (for example spaghetti) more than once a month.

1.Spaghetti w/ homemade marinara sauce, salad w/ homemade celery seed dressing, garlic toast

I haven't done a menu this week, I have been to one store

to take advantage of triple coupons, on 5 items.

I usually make my meal plan according to what is one sale.

If I don't have a meal plan, there is usually plenty to eat.

I love them "loss leaders"

I got a great bargain on the "new" pouch salmon,

might be trying the salmon patty recipe on the package,

it's sounds pretty good. are truly amazing, I can't do a month's worth of menu,

Do you have a freezer, besides your fridge/ must!

Awesome is all i can say :)

Why thanks! I've been doing the monthly planning (and shopping) thing now for the last 7 years. Its become so easy I could practically do it in my sleep. LOL. I really love to plan out menus, sometimes I just do them for fun.

And yes, I do have a large upright deep freezer. Buying it has to be the most frugal thing I ever did, and not just cause I got it for $100 from an inlaw who was downscaling but because it really lets me stock up and take advantage of buying meat in bulk. I really think it is the mainstay of my being able to be so thrifty grocery-wise.\
