Easy Access at your Library

Continuing with our love of libraries. How easy is it for you to get the book you want at your library? Gone are the days of the card catalogue- seems like everything is computerized at your library. I still miss flipping through in search of my book though. Is finding a book or author quick and easy or frustrating? What if your library doesn't have the book you're looking for- is it easy to find at another library?

How does your library rate in this modern world of technology?

I live in a small town (pop about 6,000) and so we have a small library (and no bookstore in town). Our library does buy new titles, but it is very limited - only bestsellers. Their holdings are very random and scattered also. I don't mind the computer system, its available via the internet so I can compare it to my wish list on B&N.com.

Sounds like they are suffering from lack of $$

That's an understatement of epic proportions, Teri!

Our library is great. The downtown branch is only a couple years old and is a joint library with the university. Our neighborhood library is a little small, but the selection is still pretty good. I love that I can go online and request books and then I get an email when the books arrive at my library. I've never had a problem finding a book I am looking for.
