Hurricane Katrina Book Relief
In addition to the financial burden taking place with victims of Hurricane Katrina, there will be an even greater emotional burden. While it may not seem like much to us, a good book may offer just the distraction that one needs during trying times. Many victims may find themselves with little or no entertainment possibilities other than escaping from reality for a brief moment with a good book in their hands
So many of our members have expressed a desire to send books that we have decided to provide a way to effectively coordinate donations from our PaperBackSwap family.
Let’s share our love of reading with those in need; Share a book and send a smile. Mail your book donations to:
Hurricane Katrina Book Relief
c/o PaperBackSwap
8280 Southport Terrace
Duluth, GA 30097-1654
Or
Use a Book Wrapper (PDF)
Once we receive your books that you wish to donate, we will coordinate bulk shipping to emergency facilities based on their needs and the number of books collected. Please be sure to remember that children are also in need of everything from kid’s books to coloring books to crossword puzzles. (Because the book drive is a collective effort and the books will be distributed to a wide range of organizations, we will be unable to provide tax-deduction receipts for them from each organization nor from us. Thank you for understanding.)
