I am constantly taking more books than i can read.I have no self control at all when it comes to books.I have one overdue book right now and usually have at least one every time i go to the library.I have made my library rich on late fees.

My library's usual check-out period is three weeks, with a three week additional renewal, so overdue fees aren't a problem for me.

I can control myself at the library and take out only what I know I can read in the time alloted.

Oh yes, I can attest to the fact that libraries have made good money from overdue book fines of mine. Don't do it on purpose. It's true that there are usually too many books and deciding which ones to read or take back then return later to check the book(s) out. There's this inner voice saying "but you just GOTTA read this one"! So I just have to be harsh with myself and say "hey! make a choice and LIVE with it!" LOL! Other times books are late simply because of laziness...don't feel like making the extra trip and figure better to pay the small overdue fee.

I confess.....

I've had a huge overdue fine at the library $52.

At our library they don't charge for overdue books. It is a good thing, because I am in a very bad habit of going to the library taking out 5 books I know I won't possibly have time to read and then I renew them over and over again until I can't renew them anymore. Sometimes they become overdue.
