Hello all, I am so happy to find this board. My TBR list is down to nothing. I need new authors for winter. I love series and some mysteries. Stephen King bores me now and Karen Robards is repeating herself. I perfer something light but thought provoking is good too. some of my favorite authors are Debbie Macomber, Dottie Benton Frank, and Lorna Landvik, yet I have read everything they have written now. I go to the library atleast every other week and I hate just trying to pick somebody I have never read or heard about. Help I am going through withdrawal.

Hi have you tried reading Nora Roberts or Janet Evanovich. Janet Evanovich has a series out. Its called the Plum series...the first book is One for the Money and the second is Two for the Dough....they are hilarious....I think you would really like her books. I really do.

Welcome Melissa!

If you are looking to expand your TBR list you have certainly come to the right place. If you are like the rest of us, too soon you'll be upset because it is tooo long. I think I add a new one evertime I'm here- which can be real bad since I'm here almost every day:)

Book suggestins huh? I've never read her but it seems that Luanne Rice has a style similar to Debbie Macomber. If you are looking for a light and fun read I ALWAYS recommend "Blessed are the Cheessemakers" by Sarah Kate Lynch. I fyou enjoyed Karen Robbards I would suggest Kay Hooper- she has a couple of series but a lot of stand alones. I agree Evanovich is a wonderful and fun read. Nora Roberts is also on e of my personal favorites but I haven't read all of hers.

Hopefully this gets you started. We are also reading "THe Kite Runner" as a group read(see the posting below in Group Reads).

Hope to you see you around here often.

Hi nice to meet you! For a little different flavor of series fiction I recommend the Spencer series by Robert B. Parker. It is what the TV show Spencer was based on.

I find them to be light fun reads and there are just a ton of them. I don't even read them in order. However, I do fiind myself going back to look for ones that are mentioned in one I may be currently reading.

Welcome! Like others have mentioned here, I would highly recommend Janet Evanovich, Robert B. Parker & Jeanne Ray. Tami Hoag, Lisa Gardner & Iris Johansen all write good suspense type stuff. Joan Hess's "Claire Malloy" mysteries are funny & her "Maggody" ones are kind of enjoyable too. Donald Westlake is another funny writer. Two of his "Dortmunder" books were made into movies - "The Hot Rock" with Robert Redford & "Bank Shot" with George C. Scott. Lawrence Block's "Burglar Who..." books are amusing & I kind of like his "Matthew Scudder" books too. Elizabeth George, Nevada Barr, Dana Stabenow, Anne Perry & both Faye & Jonathon Kellerman are good mystery writers. And there are so many more! Your TBR list will grow by leaps & bounds here at these boards.
