Sarenna ~

I think I'm going to go broke from buying all the books that have been recommended here :)

I just finished "Shoot the Moon" by the same author and it was wonderful. I highly recommend it.

I am reading Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes. I'm about 80 pages into it and am loving it. It's light and funny, which is amazing since it's about Rachel Walsh, a woman with a drug addiction who enters rehab. Not a funny topic, but still a very amusing book. This is the third book that I've read by Keyes that focuses on a different member of the Walsh family. The family is so funny. I absolutely love them. This is exactly the kind of book I need right now, because I'm still having a hard time focusing on anything more serious.

Hi Scrappy,

It sounds like you're trying to take good care of yourself with tools such as lighthearted books.

I've thought about joining PBS, but haven't done it yet. I still haven't made it to our local library, but I told my husband we'd need to start going. Trying to keep the two of us in books is nearly impossible!

We did check out a used book store by our house this weekend. Unfortunately we had our child with us, so we couldn't properly browse, but both of us can see that this place may be dangerous (in a good way). We found a ton of books that we wanted to read (he's always wanted to read the James Bond books since he's an avid movie fan). I also found a book that you had recommended that I had to pick up. Undead and Unwed (I think). Anyway, I remember that you said it was funny, so I decided to give it a try.

Thanks for the info on PBS. I think I'll look into that. I am just having a hard time paying $12 for a paperback book at Borders anymore. I will do it occasionally, but if I actually gave in to my book addiction, I'd need at LEAST a $300 a month book allowance. :)

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll add it to my rapidly growing list. I finished Where the Heart Is and loved it. Time to pass it on to my mom. I think she'll like it too.

Thanks for all the well wishes, Mary. I am feeling so much better, just a bit on the bored side:) My inability to focus isn't physical anymore. I think it is just a product of dealing with a situation I wasn't expecting. The doctor feels pretty confident that the cause was a combo of the Pill and traveling, so I'm not all that worried that it will recur. The effect on my family has certainly been interesting. My middle son has done some acting out at school and with my parents, but has been very sweet and helpful to me. My oldest son has done the opposite. He's been very well-behaved at school and with my parents and then has been very challenging towards me. It's almost like since I'm the safe one to show his feelings to, he's letting them all out. Quite frankly, that's about the last thing that I needed, especially when I was really laid up. Oh, just another fun thing to deal with:)

The doctor had said that my recovery would take 2-3 weeks and it's been almost two weeks since I came home, so I guess that makes sense that I'm not entirely myself yet. I did drive today and it went pretty well:) My leg still hurts a little, but is much better. Does coumadin make your husband really tired? I've just been hearing that is a side-effect and that may be why I'm so exhausted. I go to the doc. on Friday so it will be good to see if things are on track.
