Hi Michelle! You're going to LOVE Watermelon. It's my favorite by Keyes that I've read so far. It's so cute and funny and touchy all without being cheesy. It's just the best:)

Oh Mary, I always feel better after hearing from you:) Interesting that your husband's first clot felt like a muscle strain. That was EXACTLY my initial symptom! I didn't really think much of it because on the first two days of school, I went for a couple of runs. I had been walking, but not running, so the fact that I had strained muscles in my calf didn't seem strange. AFter 2 weeks of not recovering, however, I was starting to wonder and then my ankle swelled a little. That had me concerned. I finally went in after going for a short walk and having my calf start to ache. It was a very different feeling from the "muscle strain" and alerted me that something was really wrong. The doctor who worked on the vein (an intervention radiologist) felt that it had been there from between 2-6 weeks which coincided with both our trip to NC by plane and IL by car. My personal feeling is that it was probably the car trip that did it. My kids are bigger and we were actually going for some pretty long stretches of time. I hear you about my oldest son. I do think there is some pre-adolesence junk going on. He just started 4th grade which is such a funny year. I remember from working at schools thinking that it is such a hard transitional year for kiddoes. I have to remind myself of that. Like I said, I just wasn't up for dealing with it at this time. Next month, bring it on:)

Again thanks for your input!

I just finished The Russian Hill Murders by Shirley Tallman. This is the 2nd in a new mystery series focusing on a female lawyer in 18th century San Francisco. I really enjoyed the book - interesting, sympathetic characters, excellent setting, fairly well researched for historical accuracy, and a bit of suspense.

Sarenna ~

We did check out a used book store by our house this weekend. Unfortunately we had our child with us, so we couldn't properly browse

Does that used book store and your library offer a website, so you can browse online?

Hi Teri! Thanks for the well wishes. Many of Keyes' books do take place in Ireland. So far the ones that I've read all have Irish main characters, even if the setting is somewhere else. I can't wait to hear what you think of Watermelon. Irish Girls About Town is a fun book. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the story by Marian Keyes in it. My favorite was the one by Cathy Kelly. Enjoy:)
