Hi all, I am still lurking(for those of you who remember me ;)! I am looking for some recommendations for good, light hearted, feel good books. I am getting a little strung out on mystery and horror. Don't get me wrong, that is still my fav. but I need some good reads that leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling, but are still interesting and in depth. Any suggestions?

Thank you Teri, I am going to hit the library tomorrow with a list and see what I can find.

Oh by the way, the two Richard Laymon books you sent me, I have passed on to a fellow horror reader, my Father in NY. All I asked of him was to pass them along to others who may enjoy the books, I hope that's ok. (if not I can get him to send them back ;)).

Any of Jeanne Ray's books would be a good choice. If you'd like a little fantasy, Neil Gaiman is good. "The Secret History of the Pink Carnation" by Lauren Willig was kind of fun. "Zorro" by Isabel Allende was very enjoyable. I just re-read "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire - it's very good although not a really quick read. Nick Hornby is also very good - "About a Boy" & "High Fidelity" are two that were made into movies. Have you tried the "Traveling Pants" books by Ann Brashares? They're Young Adult, but quite enjoyable. If you like Regency Romance type books, Marion Chesney is a very good author of these. In fact, her current series is actually a Regency mystery series. She generally does short series of, I think, five books. There was the "Poor Relations" series, the "House for the Season" series, etc. "Improbable" by Adam Fawer was also very good - but had a lot of mathematical theory in it. I really liked it, but it did make my brain hurt a little . Of course, the Group Reads here at the boards are also good choices.

One Rainy Night and The Traveling Vampire Show are the two you sent. One Rainy Night was really good, booth creepy and scary and keep me on the edge, I think I finished it one day, LOL! TTVS was weird. I mean, the whole show part just being a strong woman not a real vampire, killing ppl to feed the real vampire who was a blob of a thing in a hearse? I'm not sure about that one, but it was a good read. Thanks again! and I am glad you don't mind I passed them along.
