any book clubs like DoubleDay or Quality Paperback Books?

How about book magazines?

I think I'm a member of all the doubleday type book clubs. Love going through their monthly catalogues. Also I subscribe to Bookmarks magazine. I just love this magazine. So much fun going through this finding book suggestions.

I just joined Literary Guild and I can't wait to get my books! I have had memberships to other book clubs in the past as well but I don't remember which ones. Probably all of them, lol.

I agree about the CBOM. I have a hard time ordering for my 2 year old. I end up getting stuff I already know we'll like. Now my older kids it's not so bad because they have suggestions and authors they really like.

They do seem like they get expensive. The whole thing that get's me started on them are when they send

I'm a member of the Literary Guild and love it! I pre-order all my Evanovich and Nora Roberts books. I also use my magazine as a great source for new reads. Lots of authors or books that I mention here are from my magazine.

They offer that free shipping quite often so I'd wait until there was something you really wanted. Don't feel pressured to get anything either. I use to do that. Now I just wait till something special comes out that I want. Not sure what they do if your time is up and you haven't fullfilled you commitment but you'd think they could extended it or something.

Hi All,

I have belonged to book clubs off and on my entire life. I order the initial freebees and as soon as I fullfil my commitment I quit. They then send me great offers to return. I believe this is the only way you can break even with them! I do the same for my grandaughter with CBMOC. We also order alot of children's books from Scholatic!

I have been a member of doubleday so often that I don't even have to reply. I only send a card in if I want something. They'll do anything to keep you as a member. Sue

I actually think my time is up with Literary Guild but I haven't gotten any nasty reminders that I haven't fulfilled my commitment.
