any book clubs like DoubleDay or Quality Paperback Books?

How about book magazines?

I think I'm a member of all the doubleday type book clubs. Love going through their monthly catalogues. Also I subscribe to Bookmarks magazine. I just love this magazine. So much fun going through this finding book suggestions.

Yikes! Columbia house is pretty vicious. I know I was a kid and did the albums, yes I mean albums before CDs. lol I think something similar happened to me. However, they were the idiots who let a kid sign up for them. I've always been tempted to do the movies but just never have and probably never will. I could see getting in that situation.

I subscribe to get free email newsletters from publishers like Random, Berkely Signet, Time Warner, January Magazine, Book Browse, etc. And I pick up a hardcopy of Bookpage from the library.

That's a good idea, I never thought of that. Do the news letters have good information about authors and upcomming releases and so forth?

Yep, they sure do. There are publisher websites that allow you to choose which newsletters you want to get and there are websites that are devoted to books/writers.

Some of the publishers sites are:

www.simonsays.com

www.randomhouse.com

www.berkleysignetmysteries.com

www.twbookmark.com/index.html

Other sites to try are:

www.bookpage.com

www.bookbrowse.com

www.compulsivereader.com

www.rebeccasreads.com

www.januarymagazine.com
