Book-a-holic Meeting has begun..

Time again to band together and talk about our favorite thing... books.
Who has a story to tell since our last meeting. Don't be shy we've all done whatever it is you've done at least once in our book buying lives.
What's your latest purchase? The last book store you went into? Your last visit to the library? Nothing is too personal for those of us who share your obsession. Heck, this is where some of us get new ideas for more books.
I'm a book-a-holic and I love ME

My name is Nikki, I'm a Book-a-holic and I'm proud of it! My last book purchase was at Waldenbooks. I got Empire Falls and To The Nines by Janet Evanovich. I am addicted to her Stephanie Plum series. I've been reading them out of order though.
Hi Nikki *g*
You didn't waste a *minute* getting into that Stephanie Plum book, didja?!
I've gone an over extended myself with book rings/rays at bookcrossings. I have 2 that have already arrived Genesis Code and Prayer for Owen Meany. I'm expecting anytime now The Devil Wears Prada and Me Talk Pretty One Day. Plus I really want to get Whispers by Dean Koontz read this month. My spooky read for October. *sigh* Can I get this all done in a month???

Bought a couple Louis L'Amour books for my younger brother who has gone 'ape' reading westerns these days. Use to be he wouldn't think of reading fiction at all. Strictly non-fiction. Well, that's changed and now he can't read them fast enough. LOL! I bought the hardcopy of Edward Wright's "While I Disappear". Just love his writing. That last bookstore I went to was Half Price whose selection in used books is phenomenal.
I'm in the library right now online and will be browsing through the new title section. When finding a book at the library that's been hard to locate elsewhere I hurry my feets along pretty quick and have a habit of tripping over those feet or running into a bookshelf rounding a corner. Hey! The adrenaline rush is worth it! I'm a bookaholic and I love me.

Hey Donna ~
I bought the hardcopy of Edward Wright's "While I Disappear"
What's that about?
Hello, my name is Joey and I AM a book-a-holic. I was so bad today. All I had to do was drop off two library books. Smashed and Cry to Heaven, both were just okay IMO. Then the library calls just before I leave to tell me my Coyote Blue by Christopher Moore hold has come in. "Well okay but that's all I'll get." I say to myself because I really do want to get to my TBR pile. Yeah right 45 minutes later I come out with 8 books.
1. Coyote Blue
2. Fluke also by Christopher Moore
3. To Tame A Wild Highlander by Karen Marie Moning
4. Undead and Unemployed by MaryJanice Davidson
5. Night Play by Sherrilyn Kenyon
6. You Slay Me by Katie MacAllister
7. Wild Rain by Christine Feehan
8. Silver's Edge by Anne Kelleher
Well at the very least they'll be quick reads.
But it gets worse. My friend wants to go to the Goodwill to try and find a goofy costume. She asks me to go. "Okay but I won't even look at the books." I tell myself. Yeah right at 50 cents a pop I come out with 5 more books.
1. Bad Love by Jonathan Kellerman
2. My Life At Red Rose a diary of Ellen Rimbauer edited by Joyce Reardon
3. Lord of The Vampires by Jeanne Kalagridis
4. Hide Your Eyes by Alison Gaylin
5. The Book of Hours by T. Davis Bunn
So now not only have I once again delayed my TBR pile (I fear I will never get to it)I have expanded it. I wonder if I'll have a book hangover tomorrow. ((Sigh)) I guess I better get to reading. ~Joey
What is the next level up from Book-a-holic...I think I'm closing in on that.
I just read two books that had me in tears, belly laughs and wanting to hug my kids, for completely different reasons!
America The Book by The Daily Show crew -- At times this book is sacry and sad (thinking about the state of the world) at the same time it is sooooo smartly funny. This is a great book for reading in between running the kids everywhere, if you only have time for one page, sometimes that's good enough!
Confessions of Super Mom by Melanie Hauser -- All I can say is go get this book! It is witty, fanciful, tugs-at-heart strings, celebrates love-second-time-around, with superheros. I think this is the most entertaining, original book I have read in years!
My nightstand is empty, I need to make a bookrun. Since it's raining, I guess that means Amazon.
