I'm finishing up Earlene Fowler's latest and the last one so far of her Benni Harper series "Delectable Moountains" Then I'll have to start another mystery series... any suggestions? I picked up a book called "Red Queen" from the new shelf at the library that I want to try.

Jealous because I would love the time to read a book in two days..... I fear those days are gone. Maybe on my vacation at the end of October:)

Have you tried Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles series? The character is an Herb shop owner in Pecan Springs, TX. "Thyme of Death" is the first one. Here's the "Stop, You're Killing Me" link to the list of her books (which link to Amazon). http://www.stopyourekillingme.com/Susan-Wittig-Albert.html
I've also read the series she's written with her husband under the name "Robin Paige" about a couple in Victorian England who solve mysteries. I haven't tried her "Beatrix Potter" mysteries, but they might be fun.

Also, have you read Faye Kellerman's "Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus" series? The first of these is "The Ritual Bath". These are very good books.

Well, that's certainly short and to the point, Teri!

Re: Sue Margolis

Her sexy British comedies are among the *funniest* books I've ever read.

I just finished Small Island by Andrea Levy, about Jamaican immigrants in England in the WWII era. It was very good--won the Orange Prize and the Whitbread Prize.

I've moved on to Mr. Muo and the Travelling Couch.

I remember laughing out loud at several points throughout Neurotica, and reading select passages to SO between giggles
