I'm just starting The Genesis Code by John Case. I'm starting out slow because I feel like these first few chapters are important info. I will need to know later on. Mostly because so far it's nothing about what is on the back of the book. I'll be curious to see where it leads me.
From the back of the book:
A phone call in the dead of the night brings Joe Lassiter shattering news. His sister and young nephew have died in a fire in their home near Washington, D.C. Yet Lassiter soon learns a chilling fact: His loved ones were brutally murdered before the blaze was set..
The mysterious suspect's identity only raises more questions. Then Lassiter uncovers another crime - another innocent mother and child murdered. The more he unearths, the large the web of conspiracy grows, as his search for answers leads him on a dangerous international chase toward a truth that will shock him - and the world - to the very bone.
I'm kind of in between books right now. I have several Halloween-y books in my pile but nothing is really interesting me right now. I have my heart set on 18 Best Stories of Edgar Allen Poe but it is taking forever to come in at the library.
I have a book called Ghost Stories; 40 Spine Tingling Stories and I did read one of those stories earlier.
Still reading _The Historian_. I'm almost half way thru. I really don't like the way the story alternates, but I'm determined to get thru this thing. It received so many good reviews, I just have to finish it.
I just finished "Journal of the Dead" which I did enjoy. Now I started "Goodnight Nobody" by Jennifer Weiner. I love her books!!! I catch myself laughing out loud!
I finished Sams Letters For Jennifer the other day and now I've started Two For The Dough by Janet Evanovich. I also am reading The Autobiography of Santa Claus.
I just finished Rapture of Canaan last night (can't remember the author). It was pretty good, though. I started up on In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner. I haven't been overly impressed with the last couple of books I read by her (Little Earthquakes and Good in Bed), but I've heard good things about this one and I had it sitting on my computer desk, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
Once again I moved Memoirs of a Geisha from the top of the pile. Why do I do this? I have heard WONDERFUL reviews on this book. I think I must just have a mental block. I also need to make a book run. I'm almost out of books to read!
You'll know when the right time comes to read Memoirs of a Geisha. I had it for quite some time before I actually got to it. Yes I wondered what I had been waiting for but glad I waited because I really took my time with it. Was a very cozy read for me. Also, I really wanted to read this one because I saw the trailer for the movie and I really want to see this while it's in the theaters.
