Any e-tools for tracking your books?
| Mon, 10-31-2005 - 11:01pm |
hi all,
long time no write, and not much read either unfortunately, not as much as i like anyway.
but things have calmed down and i'm knee deep into Kite Runner and loving every minute of it.
i have never tracked books i've read, started a journal so many times but never kept it going.
just curious, does anyone keep track of their reads with a database, a blog, a spreadsheet, or is there some program available that does it?
i'm loving my new computer and type a lot faster than i write, so i'm thinking this could be good.
although i will have missed the first 38 years of my reading, i'm hoping to capture the rest from here on in!!!
thanks for the input....

For the past two years, I've kept a file in Word with the names of the books I read, a 1 to 10 rating and a little about what I did or didn't like about the book.
Also, I keep a list of books I have that I want to read, so they don't get lost in my bookshelves.

Well, I'm adding the books that I can see from where I'm sitting here at the computer.

how cool!
thanks for sharing :-)
Hi Michelle ~
Nice to see you again :).
i can't put Kite Runner down, so I'm hoping to finish it this week.
Last January, with all the book ideas I was getting from these boards, I decided to actually start keeping a TBR list. What I ended up with were two spreadsheets - one for "READ" books & one for TBR. I list Author, Title, Series?, New to me Author?, Source (ie: library, bought, loan) Comments, M/Y read. It's interesting to see how much I actually read. Every so often I print off a copy of my TBR list to take with me to the library when I don't have to many holds in. I am really glad that I started this. I especially used to hate it when I'd read something I liked & then later couldn't remember who the author was so I could read more by them. And since my memory is about like a sieve anymore, this is quite helpful. ;-)
