I'd love to hear about Smart Women by Judy Blume. I've almost picked it up a few times but something always stops me.

I read Smart Women a long time ago. Seems to me that Judy Blume put alot of sex in her books for adults before she wrote Summer Sisters. From what I remember that was pretty much all Wifey was about too. I wasn't impressed with anything for adults that she wrote until she did SS.

My two suggestions are The Book of Ruth and Cane River. Don't remember The Book of Ruth very much but don't think it was very uplifiting. Cane River was good and better than I had expected.

The BC journal had great things to say about that book, Maggie, but it's intimidating me!

You don't have to wait for me to read it to hear about it, Nikki...I'm almost positive the reason it's on the list is that it was a BotM choice here a while back

Was The Book of Ruth a choice for The Book Nook a while back?
