I have not read anything in almost a month! I'm going through withdrawals! Part of me can't wait to get back to work in March so I can have my hour a day in the train, but the other part of me really doesn't want to leave my new baby at daycare.
I was hoping to read The Stupidest Angel sometime before Christmas, but I have no idea if that will happen now.
I just read "What to Keep" by Rachel Cline and "Blackbird House" by Alice Hoffman and I enjoyed both, but they weren't exactly uplifting. I've been in a funk, so I'm about to start reading "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich. I haven't read any of these, but it should be a light read-- which I need right now. Of course, it doesn't help me with the papers I need to be writing for my classes;O) Also, as far as Christmas preparations go-- I think I've been reading to avoid the cleaning I need to do before I can decorate. And presents? I haven't bought even one yet!
I am still reading Memoirs of a Geisha. I'm enjoying it very much. Will look forward to seeing the movie when I have time!! It's the xmas shopping that's getting in the way of my reading time. We are trying to get it all done before we leave for vacation on Dec. 16th. I'm so excited, we're going to Hawaii!! We'll be back on the 22nd, so you can see why the necessity for getting the shopping all done. And I haven't even put up decorations yet!! Gae
I haven't read her other books. I'm not really big into romance which is why I haven't looked into them. I think I'll see what I can snag off PBS and give it a try.
I don't have a preference to quick reads or long reads just as long as it keeps my interest. I have several books in my TBR pile but I'm just not into them for some reason. I guess if I'm in the car that long it's better than nothing though!
Yes, Christmas does seem to be cutting into my reading time a bit. But I still manage to get some in. Just finished "Redbird Christmas" by Fannie Flagg & "Lie by Moonlight" by Amanda Quick - both quick reads. I have "For Whom the Minivan Rolls" with me to start today. Then "The Lady & the Unicorn" by Tracy Chevalier.
