I'm reading Wm. Kotzwinkle's ("E.T." author) The Bear Who Came Over the Mountain, a quick fun read about a bear who discovers an author's manuscript in the Maine woods and becomes a publishing sensation.

Next up, I'm very excited to begin Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz that so many people have recommended!

How about you?

I took a little break from The Historian and read Shopgirl, by Steve Martin.

I read Richard Condon's Prizzi's Honor (very good) about two hit-persons, one in the Mafia, one an independent, who meet and fall in love.

I finished The Stupidest Angel on the 23rd, and then read Kathy Reich's Cross Bones (just finished it last night)

Did you know Prizzi's Honor was made into a movie with Jack Nicholson and Kathleen Turner as the hitpersons? Anjelica Huston was also in it, as Maerose.

Ooops! I forgot to say that I TOTALLY agree about Jim Butcher. I have all his Dresden Files so far. He's also written a less occult more fantasy-type series, the Codex Alera series. The first two in that are out. They're good, but I like the Dresden Files better. (Although if you DO read the Codex Alera series, you will be surprised at the end of the second one as to who the identity/ies of one or two of the characters might REALLY be!)

I finished the last of the library books that were due to go back 12/26. I saved the three David Gemmell's (White Wolf, Ravenheart, and The Swords Of Night And Day) for last and not sorry I did! I just love his Rigante, Waylander, and Druss/Skilgannon tales!

On 12/26, believe it or not, although there was no mail, the library was open! So I picked up the following to read through 1/16: Dorothy Gilman's Mrs Pollifax Unveiled, Nicholas Sparks' At First Sight (sequel to True Believers), Alan Dean Foster's latest Pip and Flinx adventure Running From The Deity, Elaine Isaak's The Singer's Crown, Ginger Garrett's Chosen (about Queen Esther in the Bible), Jean Rabe's The Finest Choice, Caitlin Brennan's Song Of Unmaking, and Judith Berman's Bear Daughter.

Teri you should definetly read Forever Odd when you are done with Odd Thomas. Nice follow up to the book that leaves you not so hanging. :)
