I am Elsewhere. Well actually I just finished. The book I just finished was entitled _Elsewhere_. It is a YA book, but had a pretty serious theme. In it, a 15yo girl is killed by a hit and run driver. Elsewhere is the afterlife. The book is told from her point of view after she is dead. Elsewhere is like heaven, but it's really more like earth. All people age backwards, until they become babies again and are reborn. It was a very good and thought provoking book. Recommend it to a teen or read it yourself. There's lots to discuss.

I'm in Shakespeare, Arkansas. The nosy landlord has been murdered. Now Lily Bard, housecleaner for many of the tenants, is afraid her hidden past will be revealed. Men are becoming a complication in her life also.

OOoh I've seen this mystery series at the bookstore. Have been wondering if it's worth the read? Let me know how you like it when you're done:)

Right now I am in a Nitta okia (geisha house) in Japan.

I am completely wrapped up in Memoirs of a Geisha. What a great story!

Maggie,

I am currently in England with King Henry and his mother! I'm from Spain so the weather here is quite cold and dark to me. My parents, Queen Isabella and Ferdinand promised me in marriage to the Prince of Wales.

"The Constant Princess" by Phillipa Gregory - good good book Sue

Hi Teri. Thanks for the kind words.

Yep, my mom went home yesterday. She is doing really good. I posted an update over on the T&H board if you feel like checking it out.

I got home on Wednesday and was exhausted! I still feel run down a little but better. I was supposed to be catching up on housework and laundry the past couple of days but I can't keep my nose out of Memoirs/Geisha.

I honestly didn't know if I would like it. I'm not much of a historical read kinda girl and I thought that's what it would be more of.

I have to go see the movie once I'm done with the book.

I was recently in 17th century Cologne, Germany as a Jewish midwife who was accused of witchcraft during the Inquisition by a Spanish priest who held a mortal grudge against my now dead mother. To satisfy his hate he tried to have me put to death. I fell in love with a German who was a Catholic priest. Although our love was doomed from the beginning... well- I'll let you read the story yourself.

"The Witch of Cologne" Toshba Learner

I have also been traveling through the United States as a 23 year old unstable woman who uses men, draining them of their money, spirits and possibly more. I am mesmerized by cannibalism, and in an ironic twist- I seem to black out at times, hungry and possibly in bed with some strange man, only to awaken alone, my hunger fulfilled but my bed partner nowhere to be found.

"A Carnovire's Inquiry" Sabina Murray

*whew* I have been all over the place! I have also been living in rural Indiana where I recently got a great new job working in an ecclectic little antiques store. On first meeting my boss is warm, unique and wonderful- we really "click." Then she tells me she is a witch, and from there everything becomes crazy as she is accused of murdering her estranged sister. But, all should end well in this sleepy little Hoosier town- and I am confident that my new boss and friend is not the killer (although that ghost hunting group she hangs with still kinda wierds me out.) I am having a really exciting time even with all this stress- sooo much excitement that there is too much to fit into one book- so I am looking forward to a series~ maybe then I will figure out which study guy I should be dating!

"The Trouble with Magic" Madelyn Alt
PS- A friend of mine just wrote and published this adorable little book- I loved it!!!

Shall I go on? I read like a fiend- give me chocolate and a good book- I'll devour both!
