I am doing okay! I finished a huge sci-fi that I thought I would try and that took longer than I wanted. That was the first in a series called Wizards First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I am still working on a Philippa Gregory "The Virgin's Lover" and working my way through David Copperfield.
Well I was hoping to get thru some recent books a little quicker. It took me forever to finish Empire Falls and I finally finished The Devil Wears Prada this morning. That took me about two weeks to read and I thought I'd be done with it sooner. I don't have any specific reading goals but I do want to see how many books I can read this year.
I just started "Rebecca" which is our current book club's selection for this month. I would like to finish this rather quickly since I have so many others I'd rather read.
PS. Teri, the "Constant Princess" was really good!!
I finally started a Reading Journal; noted a couple books so far I've read this month and some personal thoughts. As for current reading, I've got new cozy mystery writer Madelyn Alt's "The Trouble With Magic". Main character is Maggie O'Neill who lives in small town Stony Mill, Indiana. After losing her steady job, Maggie ends up hired at Enchantments, owned and run by Felicity Dow - a self-proclaimed witch. Felicity's estranged sister is murdered and she is the main suspect; Maggie ensues with her own investigation to find the real killer.
Am also re-reading the Harry Potter series; finished 'HP and the Chamber of Secrets'.
Finished all the library books and plan to return them Saturday and get more. What I REALLY REALLY want to do though is go to Barnes & Noble and get the new JD Robb. (Of course, that means I will probably not be able to resist picking up one or two more things as well, LOL. Let ya know what happens!)
I'm just about to finish "The Rule of Four" and will be ready to move onto another book. This was okay, but nothing earth shattering. I have the newest "Cat Who" book by Lilian Jackson Braun so will probably start that next. Not sure after that. Gae

Just finished Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress by Dai Sijie.
I read two nice short stories by Paul Gallico in an older paperback: The Snow Goose and The Small Miracle.
