M daughter and i used to be in a reading group together at the school.Unfortunatly she goes to jrhigh now and they don't offer that and she ends up having so much homework these days she doesn't seem to have time for reading.

My middle dd, age 13, is a big reader. Since I work in a HS we often read the same books because I read a lot of YA. Sometimes I'll read a book first and recommend it to her and sometimes she reads something first and recommends it to me.

We listen the Narnia CDs at night with DD. She's only 2yo (not quite) and that'w what we listen to while we're rocking her. I also use them during the day for naps. I've got the book, too, so I'm reading a chapter once in a while along with the CDs.

There are many books I can't wait to share with her as she grows up!

My dd and I often read the same books, but not at the same time.

One great thing about working at a bookstore is there is always someone to talk books to. Just this weekend I was helping a customer discover some new authors. I also talk books to my fellow co-workers as well. My hubby will generally ask what I'm reading or make a commnet that it must be a good one if I'm breezing through it but we have different tastes in books so we seldom find a book that we both enjoy. We do read the Laurell Hamilton Merry Gentry series though- sometimes it's a race to see who can get through it first:)

Not quite sure how my daughter, Layla, and I got started on our shared reading but she is a BC member and loves to look through PBS as well. We were looking at Targets "reading" stuff and decided that we should try reading some of the same stuff.

We are suppose to be reading one book per month but she starts getting a head of me so I end up working two books at once because I so enjoy talking about the characters and the story.

We trade off each month on who gets to choose the books. I usually look through the National Book award nominations and winners and other book prizes for young adult fiction to choose my books. Not sure how she goes about hers.

My DS & I have certain authors that we both read - especially Robert B. Parker. And I have a few co-workers that I share books with. And now that my GF Sandi is here, we pass them back & forth all the time.

Absolutely! Everyone in my family is a reader. I share some books with friends at work. My sister and I share books back and forth. My daughter and I read some of the same authors and share. I share different types of books with my son. We read the Harry Potter books and lots of scifi/fantasy books. My daughter and I read Phillipa Gregory, Anita Shreve and Jodi Picult. With my sister I share Nora Roberts, Jan Karron, Dean Koontz, Luanne Rice and Kristin Hannah. I even share a few books with my ex-husband. I have sent him 'The Rule of Four' and not gotten it back yet. I just picked up 'The Templar Legacy' and won't share it until he returns 'Rule of 4'.
