I read all of those preliminary pages before I start a book . . . and then I'll often read them again after I've finished.

With some authors - yes. I love B. Delinsky but her much older books don't compare to the ones from about 1990 or so on, so I'm careful with her to check the original publishing date. I saw one of her books on the "new in print" section just recently in B&N, the title sounded familiar so I checked the original date, and sure enough it was an oldie that had been "re-released". I find that kind of deceptive, if you don't read a lot, you might not figure that out for awhile, but I guess it's up to us to be cautious, too. That's likely true for other authors, I think they do just continue to get better over time.

Only if I need some particular info. Mostly if I'm trying to make sure I'm reading one book before another. For example I have several Robert B. Parker Spenser books and I always go with the earliest copywrite date when choosing one of

Usually if I look at the copyright date it's when I'm trying to find the sequence of books in a series. Or there may be something in the book that makes me wonder when it was published. Otherwise, I don't really look at it. But I do always read the Acknowledgements, Dedications, quotes, etc. Sometimes the Acknowledgements show interesting connections - usually other writers who've helped them along. But, once in one of the Skip Langdon books by Julie Smith, centered around New Orleans, there was a thank you to one of our Deputy-Coroners here in No. CA. Never did find out how they connected. I knew him slightly from working at the Sheriff's office for a few months. He had a very weird sense of humor. At our big Christmas pot-luck lunch, he arrived to slice the turkey in his green, stained scrubs with a scalpel. LOL!!

I usually do briefly look at the beginning pages of a book just to note what year it came out.

I look at the publication date but that's it. It depends on the author as to if I read the intro. stuff or acknowledgements.
