Shall we check in and talk about our efforts & progress in reading the unread books on our shelves?

I'm doing OK, getting 4 or 5 per month read & moved on.

Well, so far I've read Miriam the Medium, Watermelon and have started on The Honk and Holler Opening Soon. I figure I'm doing pretty well, actually. I managed to finish Watermelon by Marian Keyes, but overall wasn't that impressed with it. I guess it's just not my genre.

I am making a dent in my bookshelves in two ways. I am going through and letting go of some of the books I know I'll never read again. I just got Patricia Cornwall off my shelves and that leaves a large gap to fill. I'm thinking my Jan Burke series might be next. But I am also reading lots of them too:) So yeah for me!

I am also finally reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" for the first time. And though at first it felt more like an assignement I am getting caught up in the story and the characters.

Next down the line is adding a little more non-fiction to the mix.

How long do you wait around with the books before you donate them? I am in a confused state about that and would like some input from other people!

I see, so it really depends on the intent of the person with the books. I like to get books, read them and trade them and I keep only a few very special ones. I only get books I want to read and I do want to trade with others, so I am wondering how long to keep them for trades before I donate them. I hope this presents my question more clearly.

Hi Classiwick ~

so I am wondering how long to keep them for trades before I donate them.

Your question is one that would make an interesting separate post - we've never discussed it before!
