Have you read any of Kate White's "Bailey Weggins" mysteries; If Looks Could Kill, A Body to Die For and Till Death Do Us Part? They're fun, light stories with really good mysteries in them!

Or Jennifer Weiner has some good ones - I liked Good in Bed and Goodnight Nobody.

If you gives us some ideas of what you have liked in the past, we could probably give you some more helpful suggestions.

I'm adding Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books to the list "One for the Money" being the first. If you enjoy romance books those are always a fun sort of book to take on a vacation. Some of my favorites are Arnette Lamb, Theresa Meidros, and of course Nora Roberts.

Hello across the pond ~~~

I love British writers. I read only mysteries (thrillers/suspense), and as I've said here before, the UK has some of the very best.

I, myself, like to read women's fiction. Some of my favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, Elizabeth Berg, Hannah Kristen and Anna Quindlen.

Hi s-t
I agree that "Good In Bed" by Jennifer Weiner is a fun book to read ... After what she thought was a "temporary" break-up with her boyfriend, she reads his debut column, "Good in Bed," in a woman's magazine. Titled "Loving a Larger Woman," and apparently about her, this humorously transforms her life

These are some books i have recently read and enjoyed. Nothing too heavy and good for a short holiday ...

"Skinny Dip" by Carl Hiaasen ... it starts with a sleazey husband who heaves his wife off the deck of a luxury cruise liner and into the Atlantic Ocean, far from Key West Florida. But instead of drowning she stays afloat and returns to make him sorry in a wacky story with some unusual characters

"The Codex" by Douglas Preston ... The 3 sons of of Treasure Hunter/Tomb Robber Maxwell Broadbent set out on a mission to find their father since he has sealed himself in a tomb somewhere in the world with his collection and his sons will have to find him if they want their inheritance

"White Hot" by Sandra Brown ... she returns to her home in the south for her brother Danny's funeral. Estranged from her family for 10 years, she arrives in town believing Danny committed suicide, but begins to suspect otherwise
