Which drags you away from stitching over the festive season?

  • The sales on in the shops, I can't stay away!
  • The children screaming to be entertained.
  • All the delicious food on offer, just can't stop cooking/baking/sampling!
  • Catching up on all my favorite classic Christmas films.
  •  All the relatives descending on the house.
  •  There just isn't the space with all the new Christmas presents/wrapping paper..
  •  My social life is too busy, I'm out every night!
  •   NOTHING keeps me from my stitching!

You will be able to change your vote.

Even though all of the above do occur (except maybe sales in shops and children clamoring for attention), I still make time to stitch at least a little bit!

Has the recession really led us to make do instead of just throw away?
In these economically challenged times, do you think we need a Repair Manifesto?
What do you do to get yourself out of a style slump?

Not about stitching since I don't stitch, but work is a huge source of distraction from the things I'd like to do!

I find that I get more stitching done over the festive season - I'm thinking possibly because I don't have the pressures of needing to x, y or z done for a course and also simply because I have time to myself.

The toddler wanting mommy to give him her full attention. Also, the baby in my tummy! As I've moved into the 3rd trimester, I've been plagued by migraines which makes it very difficult to sew.

Oh, Tiffany, I'm so sorry to hear about the migraines. Did you have them for Paul as well or is this baby being ornery?

I voted the kids, but as I no longer have kids at home that isn't correct it's work (oh wait those are kids!) well anyway for me it's that four letter word WORK! Really puts a crimp in my knitting/stitching at times. On the 11th I'm doing a field trip, so I'm going to have at least 4 hours of down time (which I will be paided for mind you) to knit. YEA for Samantha

~~Sam stitches well with others, runs with scissors in her pocket. Cheerful and stupid.
