Where can I purchase a metal cutting guide (the one with the groove for scissors) that I can attach to the top of a sewing table.

Hi and welcome to the board!

I know exactly the kind of guide you are talking about, but I have never seen one for sale anywhere. I did a quick search of the internet and did not find anything like it. Maybe if Carol (cl-thatyank) sees this she will be able to find it. She is a search engine wizard!

My suggestion, if you are not able to find one,

I wish I were really as good at searches as Becky says but... I struck out too.

I suspect that these kinds of cutting tables are commercial, made specifically for fabric shops, and the best bet to find one would be to find a shop going out of business and see if you can buy it from them. Then, tear the big table apart (as it is likely too big for your work space), salvage the metal piece and install it in your own table/counter... Perhaps the best place to look is your local WalMart as so many are closing their fabric departments...

Otherwise, ask your local JoAnn's where they got theirs!

Sorry we aren't of much help but I'm with Becky: Can you use a rotary cutter and a good straight edge (acrylic rulers come in various lengths or you could resort to a good metal rule: My DH has one that is a good foot wider than my cutting table...)?
