Despite being an experienced sewer, I realized quilting was a whole new world. After looking over books from the library, I knew what kind I needed to get me started. Something basic which discussed threads, batting, needles, etc. plus had some templates to trace & make samples. Found the book on 30% off AND 2 DVD's of patterns on clearance at 60% off at Hancocks this AM. The helpful clerk steered me away from the more expensive (and wide) muslin for my 14" samples. Luckily, my stash of thread includes all kinds I can play with, plus I always stock up on needles when there is a sale. So, now I do not have to wait until the treadmill is gone to begin a quilt project. The square samplers are calling!
