Depending on size and width of skirt--1 or more lengths. 1 length of 45" wide fabric (w/o nap) for a skirt less than 44" in diameter at the hip/hem (widest part of pattern) + enough for waistband, pockets, etc. 2x length if using with nap fabric. Plaids and one way designs require more fabric.

Basically the same estimates for other garments. If it has sleeves, add 1-2 sleeve lengths, depending on width of sleeves. Pants are 1-1 1/2 length for 60" wide fabric, 1 1/2-2 lengths for 45" fabric.
