Has the recession really led us to make do instead of just throw away?
In these economically challenged times, do you think we need a Repair Manifesto?
What do you do to get yourself out of a style slump?
Last week, my goals were
1. Call the appliance repair and tell them the ice maker still isn't working, schedule an appointment and set that day aside to wait... === called and the repairman was ill so had to wait for a call just to talk to him. he called Thursday and came Friday. the icemaker is kaput! Now we wait for a replacement!
2. Call in prescriptions and pick up the refills === almost forgot this but finally got it done on Friday
3. Plan for Thanksgiving (assuming DH finds out if BIL is coming) and do the shopping - will have to work this in around the appliance repairman === we are going to BILs and he wants us to bring my rice dish, my cranberry sauce and DH's pumpkin pie. So Thursday, after the repairman called, I went grocery shopping for the necessary ingredients (and the makings for our own smaller feast on the weekend).
4. Stamping demo on Tuesday night === DONE
5. Stitchery - Work on "Free Flight" === DONE (half the butterflies are done)
6. House cleaner comes Wednesday === DONE
7. Walk - one mile a day… === well I did walk Sunday!
8. Pay bills === DONE
and FINISH the computer records! === only five months of the brokerage account updated. Three to go!
so this week…
So this week…
1. Wait for the appliance repairman to call, AGAIN! LOL
2. Cook for Thanksgiving (assuming DH finds out if BIL is coming) and do the shopping - will have to work this in around the appliance repairman
3. Stamping demo on Tuesday night
4. Stitchery - Work on "Free Flight"
5. House cleaner comes Wednesday
6. Walk - one mile a day…
7. Pay bills and FINISH the computer records!

Last week -
1 Decided to make wallhanging as first quilt project. This will be from art deco tourism postcards I purchased on the canyon trip. Prints will be enlarged, then printed on fabric with my inkjet printer.
2 Press & store the new fabric for quilt projects - not done. I did order a small travel iron with ironing blanket to keep on my project table.
3 Tutor Tues & Thurs afternoon - done
4 Still waiting for the treadmill in my hobby room to be picked up.
5 DGrD (9) was here for a sleepover on Fri. Her choice of sewing projects was to pick out fabrics and begin a Crazy patch square. She did really well on the sewing machine. This will be an ongoing project over the winter. We took time on Sat. to go for a walk on the prairie path of the local park and picked up dried flowers & grasses for the Thanksgiving centerpiece.
This week -
1 Go to Curves Mon/Weds/Fri. Monday done already.
2 Back massage today. Needed it after all the muscle work I've been doing.
3 Get my car detailed for the winter on Tuesday.
4 No tutoring this week as school is out.
5 Family here for Thanksgiving dinner.
6 Work on quilting sampler squares over next weekend.

Also went to my BIL`s new house that him and his partner built over the last year! WOW, it`s very nice!
Got the new Mario Bros for the Wii... To cool!
This week:
Since not much got done over the weekend needed to catch up on housework Monday and Tuesday.
Prepared list of gifts to be done. Most probably will be done by the end of next week.
Sewing & quilting. Not much done this week. Sewing class has been confirmed for Friday. If it continues that way we will still be sewing by Christmas Eve LOL.
Work has started to quiet down, maybe I will be able to recharge my batteries and plan something for the Holidays.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all
