I would guesstimate somewhere around 16-20 hours a week. I work full-time, so I don't get in the time I'd like to, and I also have a cardinal rule that I can't sit down and knit unless my chores are done.

Not a bit -- because it's been therapeutic for me and has had such a calming effect.
*I* am the real football hound in the house. I ordered DirectTV's NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL Superfan programming.
When my son came home from work on the first Sunday of the season, and saw my FOUR televisions set up, each with a different game, he just shook his head. I became defensive and asked "If I'm paying $250+ for this programming, should I NOT get my money's worth?"
It seems the young man likes to stretch out on the floor in front of those FOUR televisions and watch the games, too. And HE shook his head at ME!
Sundays during football season are my selfish days. I go nowhere. I allow no plans to be made for me. I get all my housework done on Saturday and, if it isn't done, it doesn't get done on Sunday unless I can complete it by noon.
Once the kickoff occurs, all bets are off, and the knitting is picked up. I knit during the 1:00 games. I knit during the 4:00 games. I knit during the 8:30 ESPN game.
For me, knitting and football go together as much as any man can insist that football and beer go together! LOL!
I probably average about 20 hrs. per week. I knit while watching tv, because I can't just sit still and do nothing. My DH never says anything about it. He knows that I am antsy and have to constantly be doing something.
Ha! Good question. Heather, I noticed that you haven't answered it yet ;)
I've been doing alot lately. 15-20 hours probably. Seems like that's about the average for us on this board. It's more than I usually do, though.
My husband commented on it once last winter (that's about when I really started crocheting). I stayed up until 5 in the morning...just one more round.... yah. Anyway, he seemed not too happy, but I said, 'if you're upset about your wife staying up ONE night until 5 in the morning CROCHETING... you should be thinking that you're pretty lucky.' Guess he thought about it and all was ok. He realizes now that it really gives me pleasure to create and if I'm happy, seems like everyone is happy. (I also don't stay up until 5 in the morning anymore lol.)
Right now, I am crocheting a little more than I normally do, because I am working on Christmas gifts. Maybe about

You're right Karen, I forgot to answer my own question!
Before, I'd say I was doing about 10 to 15 hours per week, but its dropped significantly to about 5, if I'm lucky.
Who would have thought that Football & knitting go together like football and beer!!!
