OK, I have been wanting to learn to crochet for quite a while now. I went out and bought a book, some yarn and a bunch of crochet hooks. I can start the 1st string, where you wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through the loop but I have not figured out how do more than that. The book I bought was uselss, I try to do the same thing it says to in the book but all I end up doing is knotting up the yarn, then I have to start all over. I am trying to make a baby blanket. Nothing too hard. Can anyone help me?

Your best bet is to go down to the local craft store and see if they offer classes.

What's the name of the book you have?

Here are a couple of websites to help you get started.

Thankyou everyone! I will check out the links you gave me, and a friend of the family will show me a thing or 2 on Thanksgiving!

I haven't posted here before, but the best book that I have found is the Idiots Guide to Knitting and Crocheting. It had the best instructions, and a very easy very quick project that you could complete in a weekend.
