If you knit/crochet just for the love of it there are a number of charities that

I've knit myself a cotton tanktop last summer. It proved to not be so hot to wear. Maybe that's something you could look into. If I lived in a warm weather climate then I would probably knit a lot of lace things too.

You're right, and I do make chemo-caps and premie gowns.

Well, I'm in TX also but I still seem to make a majority of blankets. Maybe because all the people I'm giving them to are up in Northern Michigan? lol I do have to make a baby gift for a friend here in TX, I was trying to figure out what to make. I was thinking a light weight baby blanket or a cute onesie that i've seen a pattern for. If I make it in cotton it should be cool enough for the baby. :)

I do a lot of doilies and have been looking at making more purses. I got a book on felted crochet and have the wool to make 2 purses. I gave up on trying to knit one like Amanda did (the bogo bag I think) because I just don't have the time to work on knitting.

I guess we'll have to search for more summer projects. If you can't find a good tank top pattern let me know, I can scan in some from the book I have and email them to you.

Lise,

Here's a pattern to a really pretty crochet summer top that I've been meaning to make.

I'm in Texas also, so I know how you feel. When I see on TV everyone in New York and Boston wearing fashionable winter clothes I'm so envious!

LOL wish I could help you, but hats and scarfs are a wardrobe staple nearly six months out of the year here!

I would second donating to charity though :)

Thanks Amanda! I may give the booga bag a try. I also got a crochet felting book that has some neat bags. I just hope I have enough yarn to do them. :)

I got the crochet calendar a day for christmas and it has some great small projects in it. I hope to make a cell phone case with some caron fling yarn once I finish up my latest baby blanket. It's a star, I'll post pictures later.
