I tried that pattern from lion brand's site and it had too big of holes. Thankfully I had alternate plans to do a simple V Stitch and didn't rip out my base of HDC's. Since I've been having such a hard time sleeping I was up till at least 12pm last night crocheting and I'm quite a ways through the afghan! the skeins are only 2.5 oz and I worked up 2.5 skeins last night. I hope to do even more tonight after I finish my computer time.
Poor Paige was sick most of the weekend but did manage to stay healthy enough to enjoy her birthday party at McDonalds Saturday evening. She started throwing up Sunday morning and was out of it most of the day. I kept her home today from school but I think she'll be ok tomorrow. The bug is going around that causes vomiting and diarrhea, DH and I also got it. :( I'm just now feeling better and had a good nap this afternoon. let's hope I get some sleep tonight...otherwise I may stay up and finish that darn afghan! lol
(Hope Paige is feeling better by now!)
The only rant/rave I have is:I printed off the knitting socks tutorial and it didn't say what size needles to use. I compared the # of cast on stitches with another pattern and it didn't match at all, so , yah, I was disappointed.Guess I wasn't meant to knit socks yet. The link is below if anyone wants to check it out.-Karenhttp://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4777.asp
Jodi, I'm sorry to hear that Paige was sick, did she get to school today?
I can't wait to see your afghan, what yarn are you using for it?
I started the sweater that JJ had posted earlier this weekend, and its worked up using TLC's Amore yarn.
Oh Yah! I have a BIG rant......
Patterns that are not reader friendly. So many patterns are written for people who have been knitting forever. I need specifics. I think the hardest thing about knitting is figuring out the pattern. Reference books do help, but if the pattern was written differenly, it sure would save alot of grief.
Thanks Karen. Paige is doing better today but is still not her perkey self. I think she'll be feeling better really soon. It seems to be talking a while for her to toss this bug, it's been hanging around since the 2nd week of December on and off! Ugh. We need a good rain down here to wash away all the bad junk in the air. :(
Good luck with the patterns, knitting is not my thing for exactly that reason, I can't even begin to comprehend the patterns! lol
Thanks Heather. She is doing much better today.
I'm using Lion's brand, angora like yarn. It's very nice to work with and soft. I will post pictures when it's finished. :)
I can't wait to see picutes. I don't know if I've worked with the Amore yarn yet but I like the TLC yarns. They are a lot softer than the redheart.
I've run into this problem on older crochet patterns, especially the doily ones. They leave things out, stuff I don't know about! Ugh, it's very annoying.
((HUGS)) and good luck
