I am VERY new at knitting and already have a knitting idea. Can knitted clothes be be made strong enough to withstand martials arts training...full contact?

thx

They make knitted baby clothes. It's a matter of what fiber you use, and maybe how tightly you knit. I've only done light contact, and that was not hard on the outfit. However, I'd wonder about whether a regular (worsted yarn) knit would be just too warm to fight in.

Some hemp blends are very strong, and some hemp/cotton blends are also quite comfortable. I haven't tried to knit with it, but only have a few pre-made clothing items to base my evaluation on.

The only thing that would concern me is the *sagging* factor in knitting clothes for martial arts.
