At least its a baby blanket so it isn't that big. I never saw that stitch pattern I bet its pretty. Does it alternate in the next row where you sc do you do a dc & vice versa?
Sometimes mind numbing is nice for a change. I thought I would never finish my ds's basket weave stitch balnket.

Yes, the rows alternate that way.
I've seen the same pattern used for a bib and for a shawl, too, and have done both of them numerous times.
